Hello Friends;

Tuesday, February 14th is Valentine's Day.  You can see our special menu on the website www.french-restaurant-marin.com "what's new" window.  We are filling up fast so please call soon and reserve a table.

We asked Pierre what he would do on Valentine's Day Eve if he had the night off. He said: "I would probably stay at home and while it may sound chauvinistic, I would love to have my sweetheart cook for me. After all, I cook every night and it would be a nice treat.  My dinner choice would be something light like scallops that wouldn't weigh me down for the rest of the evening and ooh la la. After dinner we could enjoy some champagne in front of the fire.  Of course, I would clean up the dishes".

Check the menu page on our website for the new Early Bird menu.  We try to change this menu every two weeks and apologize for a one week delay.  Holiday's kept us very busy this year.  If you have any favorites that are not on the early bird, we would like to know what they are.  Thank you.

This month's recipe is Brie en Chemise. The French definition of chemise is "shirt" or "folder".  This appetizer is easy to prepare and is very popular at the Restaurant. The unique appeal of this dish are the two sauces which complement the Brie.  If you have any problem with the instructions, email or call us.

Sunday February 19, 2006. Sausalito is the starting place for an exciting bicycle race. It is the first Amgen Tour de California  which will include many of the best riders in the world.  Christophe Restaurant and 19 other Marin County and local restaurants and wineries will host an evening of fine food, wine tasting and dancing under the Big Bike Tent. In March we are planning a Cabaret Night featuring Michel Michelis a charming and enchanting French singer.  More information about dates and time and menu will follow soon. Later in the month we are hoping to offer a wine-tasting dinner.
