Christophe Restaurant Francais

Christophe is a traditional French Bistro located north of downtown Sausalito on the corner of Bridgeway and Spring Streets.  Once inside, you could easily believe that you are in the South of France in a small bistro or café.  The restaurant is humming with conversation.  Great smells fill the air. A French chanteuse coos in the background and the dinner guests are relaxed and smiling. 

Partially visible through a small, open serving window is chef/owner Pierre Smets busy in his kitchen. Just above the dining room hum, you might hear his serious French accent issue orders to the kitchen crew. There is no question that he is the Commander and Chief of this kitchen.  Every plate must pass his inspection. Each perfectly prepared dish, hot to the touch, is immediately picked up by the servers.

Those in France are meticulous about appearance, quality, and presentation.  This theme is the standard for the fare, service, and ambiance at Christophe.

The dining room has seating for up to 38 guests.  The combination of the fresh flowers on each table, the comfortable high backed chairs, and the soft French music filling the room, all add warmth to the bistro atmosphere.  In the evenings, the stained glass light fixtures softly light the peach colored walls 

During the day, the room is bright and cheerful with several large windows on each wall. The tables are covered in burgundy with white tablecloths. Tables are easily moved to accommodate a romantic evening for two, or dinners with larger groups.  Between 11AM and 4PM. the restaurant is available for special private luncheons, birthday celebrations, etc.  Dinner is served every night between 5 PM and 10 PM.
